Boot Camp Refresh: One-Week Intermediate Intensive Wheel Throwing Workshop
July 13 - July 17 2026
Monday - Friday 8a - 12p [+ additional glaze day TBD]
Prerequisite: Must be able to center 2lbs of clay independently.
Are you an advanced-beginner to intermediate ceramic artist? If so, this 5-day intensive workshop is for you. Our workshop provides a refresh to wheel throwing, covering the entire process from centering clay to glazing finished pieces. The course covers cylinder/bowl forming, trimming, and finishing, with a focus on creating a variety of functional pottery. You will refresh and improve your wheel skills while building confidence in throwing pottery.
What You Will Learn:
Day 1: Studio orientation, set up, cylinder, matching mugs, pitcher
Day 2: Handles, trimming, large bowl
Day 3: Vase, trimming bowl
Day 4: Surface decoration techniques, i.e. carving, slip, and underglazing
Day 5: Throw off the hump, glaze review
Tuition includes: 25lbs of clay. Use of studio equipment. Bisque and glaze firings. Access to studio glazes.
Consider bringing an apron or towel. Wear clothing/shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy. Keep nails short. Tie back log hair.
Class Size: Limited to ensure personalized instruction. Registration Required.
