Workshop Description:

During this two-hour demonstration workshop, Bruce will focus on the use of gosu slip, a Japanese ceramic underglaze. He will discuss its history, demonstrate its application, and use carving techniques to highlight this traditional ceramic medium.

The Artist:

Clay artist Bruce Bishop resides in Goshen, Indiana, where he is an active member of the Goshen Clay Artists Guild. He holds a Master’s Degree with a focus in Ceramics from Eastern Illinois University. He served as guest artist at Holden Village Retreat Center, 1997-1998 and adjunct instructor of Ceramics at Wenatchee Valley College, 1998-2006. While living in Wenatchee, he coordinated a highly successful art fundraiser to aid victims of the devastating 2004 tsunami in Thailand. More info at: www.brucebishopceramics.com
